Meet Caleb Rowe, Your One and Only Quarterback (Testudo Times)
Your one and only natural quarterback, at least. And, unless AMQBHG decides to take another perfectly innocent man’s lower leg ligaments, your starting quarterback from now until the end of time. Or until C.J. Brown heals up, whichever comes first. Due to his late-game insertion against N.C. State, everyone’s seen Caleb Rowe play three snaps of ACC-level college football…
ACC Title Still Essential for FSU (NoleNation)
What happens if both FSU and NC State win out? Would FSU potentially benefit by not winning the ACC in terms of a better bowl opponent? I got this question in my Tuesday chat from a handful of people, and so I felt it was worth exploring a bit deeper. Setting aside the fact that a conference championship is extremely meaningful to the coaches and players…
FSU Could Have Its Hands Full Defending Duke’s Prolific Pass-First Offense (Orlando Sentinel)
In order to understand how good the Duke team Florida State will face Saturday is, one must simply take a look at the Blue Devils’ statistics. The combination of a physically tough defense, a yard-eating, pass-first offense and a solid punting game has them very much relevant in the hunt for an ACC championship. The teams play at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPNU…
Swinney Sees Performance as Clear Indication of a Program Maturing in Consistency (Orange and White)
What the Tigers accomplished Thursday night at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem was four years in the making. Good teams go on the road against over-matched opponents and take care of their business. It’s part of the winning culture that Dabo Swinney has been building ever since he took over the Tiger program in the aftermath of the 2008 season’s darkest hour…
No Longer a Pipe Dream (Southern Pigskin)
For most college football fans, bowl games serve little purpose other than to shorten the gap between the end of one football season and the start of the next. While the 15 additional practices and the opportunity to see their beloved team play one final game are certainly perks of the bowl process, an invitation to a bowl game typically does not generate feelings of pure excitement and adulation amongst the masses…
Can Virginia’s 2010 Recruits Help Redeem the Program? (Streaking the Lawn)
As we endure yet another week wondering what’s wrong with the Virginia football team, it’s time to note an under-appreciated bright spot in the evolution of the program. A few weeks back we talked about the disastrous recruiting environment Mike London walked into in December 2010. The 2008 class was poorly regarded and suffered massive attrition…
UVa Has Much Work to Do During Bye Week (ESPN’s ACC Blog)
It was less than a year ago that Virginia’s Mike London was named the ACC’s Coach of the Year, and the Cavaliers were one of the hottest teams in the conference heading into bowl season. The program was bowl-eligible for the first time since 2007 — heading to the prestigious Chick-fil-A Bowl — recruiting was going well, and everything looked ahead of schedule in just the second season under London and his staff…

I hate AMQBHG. Yeesh.
Sorry, dude. On the bright side, the passing game may open up? I know this is awful, though. Also sucks Maryland has to burn Rowe’s redshirt on this.
Eh … it’s how it goes, I guess. Maryland already burned the redshirt (Rowe ran the 2-minute … 30 second drill at the end of the last game). Rowe is probably a better passer than either Burns or Hills, so there’s at least that.
But this is a bit nuts. One of the better receivers (Leak) is also done. Craziness.
And then there were …. none. aCK.
