Throughout the week, we give you everything you could possibly need to watch ACC football this Saturday, except directions on which beer to share your gameday experience with. Well worry no more, because we now have you covered there, too. Each Friday, we’ll be providing a few beers of choice, highlighted by the featured “Beer of the Week.” Some of these are nationally available, while others might be a bit more California-centric (sorry!), but all should set you on your way to having a highly productive afternoon of watching football.
Game Day Beer of the Week, Week 4: Prairie Artisan Ales ‘Merica
This literally tastes like freedom. I kid, of course, but if you enjoy a good (read: great) Farmhouse Ale, this is the beer for you. The Oklahoma-based Prairie Artisan Ales is not exactly easy to find outside of the southwest, though if you can locate, buy any and all you can find. This beer in particular is delicious, with a sharp flavor that’s light yet big, while presenting a ton of hop and grapefruit aromas (among others) right at the onset. It’s easy to drink, with the only possible deterrent being the mild carbonation — and even then, that’s what captures the tartness with each sip. ‘Merica comes in 22 oz. bombers, with more local establishments possibly having it on tap. I grabbed it from Vendome Wine & Spirits in Beverly Hills, for anyone who may also be in (Southern) California.
